The su is still down this morning here in Germany as I sit waiting for te Oldest and youngest of my school age children to wake up and start their days. I know soon, much sooner than I realize the darkness will not be something that fades away at 7:30+amish but rather soething I will see for 20+ hours of the day, a way of life I have been told, a new adventure awaits us all.
As I woke up this morning to make sure A had all his stuff together to start his day, you know jacket, hat, gloves, jacket zipped up common sense things we assume an 11 year old ould know to do when it is 30 degrees and snow on the ground outside, make sure he has deodorant on, Ahh the pre puberty stages of stinkiness and leaning to use something daily. Little man P woke up an as he woke up all the lights I had gone through the house and just turned off he took it upon himself to turn back on. It is still too early to be fully awake, all the lights are on but noone is home in my head this morning.
I have mentioned little mans lack of speech? If not well he commuicates wonderfully for the most part he just has some serious talking speech isues. He is none the less bing seen by a speech therapist and they think, because he is only 2 and still young they cannot give a full diagnosis, that he may have speech apraxia, basically dyslexic in his mouth. We work with him on talking but as I said he does communicate well, he makes noises for most things, All cats are called pooh (we had a kitten named pooh and it stuck for all animals) Ear for all face parts, moo for cows, deer and horses. hehe. I enjoy little man he is such a breat of fresh air, so independant and outgoing so just his own person.
The other children are doing well it is school home dinner rinse repeat. Today we have the pleasure of actually scheduling and setting up to be without a vehicle and all our household stuff YAY! *sarcasm* thankfully there will be loaner furniture and such we can se up to use.
As we embark on this new journey this new adventure to the final frontier of Alaska (Fairbanks) I am such a misxture of emotions. Excited and terrified happy and sad nostalgic and bitter all in one. We have spent the past 2+ years here in this house, we have made it a home. little man P only know this, Germany and I am sad he will not remember what a impact these past two years have had in the process of who he is. At 2 years old he can walk up and down stairs like a champ, no hand holding nothing, He knows what Pommes mit mayo und ketchup is If I order it he says yep. He knows where and what the local eis parlors are and will ask for it when we walk by. Ohh and the German backeri. However all the nostalgia aside, he will finally know what americn Mickey D's is (we have eaten German Mickey D's twice since being here. once in Berlin and once when Pete first came home) He will get to experience the awesomeness that is also known as Walmart!! and a toy store (the german toy stores are more like an american specialty shop small and overpriced)
From one extreme to the next, although I know myself well enough to know I will probably fall in love with Alaska and never want to leave. Maybe set roots down and grow old there, Girl Pants (although he is no longer a girl pants he is an amazing young man) R is excited about being able to fish and hunt and how we will be eating the meat from the animals he and KHO P bring home. I only have one request take it to the butcher before anything, I have issues once there is a face on my food.
Baby girl H is excited too, there will be sunlight and fishing with her daddy. (KHO P and she talk about him adopting her she really wants it and he is truly the only daddy she knows.) She actually said Momma!!! I am SOOO excited about going to AK.. Mommy I cannot wait for a moose to lick my face!! HA HA HA HA
Buddy A is still quiet and keeps to himself once we get to AK we are going to tryto figure out what is going on, the aniety meds worked or a bit but then he got even worse on them so now it is just to find out exactly what is going on and see where we go from there. I still think he may be Bi Polar.
Well I have rambled off topic quite a lot here, the kids are requiring assistance, hair brushed and made to look cute Little man P needs to pee.. you know mommy stuff.
Ohh and one last thing I passed my term wth the full 7 credits I could take this semester with a 3.42 GPA!! YAY!! now to just work on it more once we get to AK and finish this up!

What a LOAD of information! This is all very exciting. You've probably already left. I have another blog friend who just moved up to AK. Check out LaPaz from my bloglist!
Grats on the GPA....sounds like your family is coming together nicely. As for the little one having speech issues....Bradley did the same thing. He is actually dyslexic but from the specialists told me it was in the way his brain processes sounds. We had his hearing tested when he was really little and it was perfect. Just wait.....once he starts he won't stop. Glad to hear things are moving right along. I hope you all enjoy your move to Alaska. :)
Oh this is such a nice update! I am glad for the most part everyone is excited about your new adventure. I imagine Alaska is really beautiful. Hope you find answers with A. And as for lil man, I am sure with some help he'll do beautifully. Keep us posted about the move... OH!!! And how exciting that you are doing so well in school!!!
Good to *see* this update. Looks like a new adventure is about to begin. Best wishes!
