Well I am so sorry it has taken me so long to blog HOWEVER in my defense.. I was subject to public library internet usage.
The trip here was eventful to say the least. I have x amount of $ saved to purchase groceries while in temporary housing *Silly me thought because we would be there for a week we could pay upon check out* Well our first night used 1/2 of what I had saved for food so I called around and found a place that would gladly give me a hamburger today if I paid on Tuesday *giggle* the only problem is we would have to move rooms for a night or two.. Ok fine not a big deal I just need a roof over my head and a bed under my butt!
On our way to move from Ft.Lewis Lodging to our new temporary home we lost our stroller which in the process of flying out of the back of the truck on I-5 took with it one of the dogs in her kennel!!! Conversation that morning went something like this..
*Me* Oh Crap, We just lost the stroller
*hubby* Oh well...
*Me* SHIT!!! we just lost a dog!
*hubby* Which dog??
Umm does it really matter which one?
Ok so proceed to slow lane as safe and fast as possible reverse down I-5 to where we can see our dog.. call 911 some Insane lady stops runs across 4 lanes of traffic to sit with our dog who is in her kennel still on the fast lane side against the wall. Dog is ok stoller and kennel are not! we get to the dog after 2 of 4 lanes stops to let us get to her so we stop ALL 4 lanes of traffic and the other people who have stopped by this point run across the highway and retrieve the dog the kennel and my now ruined stroller! Baby girl and hubby were both in tears and Mr.Man all he could say was... she's probably dead.
We were told a few days prior to this that 1) Our dogs would not be allowed to fly with us on the chartered flight and then of course middle of August there are Embargos on ALL airlines against flying short snouted dogs.. *CRY* Hubby gets us put on individual flight so now instead of the 15th we leave on the 17th. We find a company that has no embargos BUT!!! We leave out of washington and connect in Portland.. *sigh* why can't this be easy??
Ok I find a DOggie hotel within 5 miles of Portland and they will bring the dogs to the airport for us.. what time are we connecting at?? blah blah blah so I get the dogs taken care of.. WE have a busy day that day.. We have to get the dogs to Portland be back in Tacoma/seattle area by 1:30 pm.. wash the vehicle and drop it off to be shipped.
That was smooth YAY things are looking better Or so I thought.
On the 17th we wake up WAY Early because the shuttle is there and we need to get to the airport. We get up before the sun even rises.. 3 kids and all our luggage in tow Here we go!
Crap I am tired. We get on a small dinkey feels like it is going to fall out of the sky plane and fly for a hour from Seattle to Portland.. get into portland and Amazingly ALL 3 kids did wonderfully! YAY maybe this wont be as hard as I thought!!
get the dogs in Portland weigh them in and send them on their way.get through security with 3 kids and all our luggage UGH Lets NOT do that again! FINALLY it is time for us to load the plane to head to Germany! YAY! We get on this BOAT of a plane that now I wonder how can something so monsterous NOT fall out of the sky??? take off the baby is happy the entire time.. Hubby and Mr.Man soon fall asleep.. Baby girl and I stay up and chat and color and talk about the plane etc etc and there was a group of children who were from Russia on their way home on this plane so Baby girl tried to make friends.
food is served I wake up Hubby and Mr.man to eat. I feel like crap I hope the food will make me feel better.. it helps with a little water. Now these BIG international planes have their T.V's but throughout the flight they will show you exactly where you are which is cool but.. I dont want to hit turbulance and see I am over a LARGE ocean nope nope nope! Not fun! I stay awake the ENTIRE flight we finally get to Frankfurt and baby girl has finally gotten air sick but hubby little man and Mr.man are all good to go. We find the USO officer after we get all our luggage and the dogs and go through customs... They tell us the bus is running late we may be stuck in Hanau for a weekend. NOOOmI want to go to Vilseck see my house and just get this started. The bus shows up YAY!! We load on said bus 3 kids 2 dogs all the luggage and Hubby and Myself. Make it to Hanau the vilseck bus is late so another YAY!! Finally the bus shows up a little after 12 pm (I still have yet to sleep ) We finally get everything loaded and ready to go to get to our new home.. We arrive in Vilseck after 4 pm (I fell asleep on the bus ride here) where we were told that our house is NOT ready we have to go into temporary lodging. So here ya go welcome to Vilseck Buh bye! We find the commisary and food area and eat go back to the room and wait as long as we can to sleep finally we all fall over and just sleep!!
It took a week to get into our house which I love my house much bigger than I thought it would be and also I adore my neighbor the kids get along with my kids so that makes for a nice living arraingement!
We were without our stuff for 2 months and 2 weeks and you forget how much you really appreciate your belongings till you do not have them.
We walked alot here but then it is small here so you can literally get from one end to the other end in about 20 minutes.
We have not traveled much as no time and it is much more expensive here and we had to purchase things *new stroller* bedding pots pans etc etc etc. But we are heading to Nurenburg for the Christmas festivle as soon as it starts. It is finally cold here and fall has begun the colors are BEAUTIFUL! The reds and golds and orange and browns amazing.
Since being here Baby Girl has started physical Therapy because she is very pigeon toed but the therapy seems to be helping. Mr Man has a appointment with the psychologist on the 14th because well he has gotten extreme again. And little man who has finally reached 6 months.. Well he started solids about 2 months ago because he was not getting full regardless how much I nursed him. he is up to 20 lbs!!! He has a scoot down and is actually very mobile he babbles and talks now which is fun But still not sleeping through the night!
Hubby has been working alot and I am left out of the loop so no Idea what he is having to do. And I finally got everything put together and set up and looking pretty here in our home.
Ohh and one more thing is the wines here are OMG to die for. I have found a berry wine.. there is no grapes in it it is strawberry elderberry raspberry cranberry etc etc etc and they turn it into a wine. mmmm I am going to miss the wines they have here when we finally do get sent back to the states.
Girl Pants is doing good he is enjoying California. I talk to him every week He says though he is getting bored with what there is to do there he has gone everywhere he can on the quad and now it is boring. He keeps going up and down with his grades at school which has me a little concerned but all in all he is happy and enjoying himself out there which is all I could ask for. Thats really all any of us want for our children is to be happy!
We have made plans to start traveling come spring because winter travel I hear is poopy! Paris is on the top 5 list of places we HAVE to go because there is the eiffel tower and That is ALL she talks about.
I will post some pictures soon. I need to get more and also Get everything installed on this PC as my laptop broke and I dunnoif it is worth even trying to get it fixxed.
I will blog more and if you read all this you ROCK!

YAH!!!! Nice to hear the details... Keep them coming. And thanks for the slide show the other day, it made me really smile! I'll be looking for more updates as well as pictures of your surroundings (and more of the kids ;) )
Yeah for finally getting your things. I so know what you mean. I had all my stuff locked up in short term storage when My Honey was in Korea. A whole year with out my things!!!
I have a friend who makes killer fruit wines, when you get back I'll have to snag you a bottle.
I never sleep on the plane either, just not comfortable! Glad you all made it safely. Can't wait to see you're pics of Nuremburg.
